The value of a better base

Three central-Chile wine journeys
Keep your Santiago room for a Maipo estate day, choose Casablanca for a wine chapter within a Santiago–coast journey, or give Colchagua its own inland stay around Santa Cruz. Then choose whether the appointment belongs in the vineyard, cellar, museum or restaurant.
Choose one strong valley
Maipo gives a Santiago stay a wine day without changing rooms; Casablanca fits between city and coast; Colchagua gives wine its own inland stay. Choose among the three destination guides below for local bases, named producers and complete return or onward journeys. Cachapoal, Curicó, Maule and Itata can lead to other journeys, compared in the wine-routes guide. Reserve the selected appointment and transport before committing to the day.
Keep a Santiago base for Maipo's Pirque or Alto Jahuel. Investigate Casablanca when Santiago and Valparaíso already frame the trip. Choose Colchagua when Santa Cruz and inland estate time deserve their own chapter.
A farming tour explains the vineyard, a cellar tasting explores the wine, and an estate meal puts food at the center. Choose one main interest instead of repeating introductory visits.
Two nights around a destination give one full intervening date. Arrival and departure remain transfer dates, with whatever local time the actual journey leaves.

01 · Coast-influenced valley
Casablanca's coastal influence is associated with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Give it a focused return day from the capital or coast, or an agreed forward transfer from Santiago to Valparaíso with a visit and meal.
Investigate Emiliana for farming context, Casas del Bosque for a cellar tasting, or a separately reserved Tanino meal. The destination guide makes those choices concrete.
For a forward wine day, arrange estate transport and delivery to the next room, with luggage included. An intercity bus ticket alone does not supply those connections.

02 · Inland wine country
Colchagua gives Santa Cruz's town and cultural visit a place alongside rural estates. Carmenère and Cabernet Sauvignon are useful starting questions for a flight; the chosen producer and format determine what you actually taste.
Two Santa Cruz nights allow one complete intervening day; three allow two. Choose the base for the evenings you want and arrange rural transport separately.
Compare Viu Manent's carriage visit with a tasting-only appointment, or make Rayuela or Fuegos de Apalta the food occasion. A table and tour need separate confirmation.

03 · A wine day from Santiago
Maipo suits a dedicated estate day while keeping the same Santiago room. Choose Pirque for Concha y Toro's guided visit or Alto Jahuel for Santa Rita's wine, museum and food options. Cabernet Sauvignon can be the starting interest, but the chosen producer and appointment determine the wines and the shape of the day.
At Concha y Toro, compare the named guided visit with a lunch-inclusive format. At Santa Rita, give Museo Andino, a Doña Paula meal or an informal café stop and the chosen tour their own time; opening and reservation arrangements differ.
Arrange the estate's actual visitor entrance and the complete return, with an alcohol-free driver or transport service. A Metro approach to Pirque still leaves a separate road leg. One estate leaves room for the visit and meal without adding a second rural transfer.

Taste responsibly
Compare more valleys and named visits in the wine-routes guide. For any of these journeys, reserve the chosen visit and meal, and arrange an abstaining driver or transport service for every tasting-related road segment.
