A work trip with room for Chile

Business Travel in Chile

Choose your Santiago base around the meeting address, arrive with time to settle in, and save a few hours for the city beyond the working day. A good trip can accommodate both an early presentation and a long lunch on Saturday.

Start with the working week

A convenient room gives you more of the city

The useful question is where you need to be each morning. An office on Apoquindo, a meeting in Providencia and an event in the civic centre create different journeys. Once those addresses are fixed, compare rooms for the commute, quiet sleep and somewhere to prepare. Keep the first evening simple; put the more ambitious outing after the last commitment.

  1. 01
    Get the entrance right

Ask for the street number, comuna, building entrance, floor and host contact. A business name alone can lead to the wrong office.

  2. 02
    Book the hours you need

If you land early, confirm room access before paying. A booking for that night may leave a gap before check-in.

  3. 03
    Give free time a purpose

Choose a museum, a neighbourhood meal or a coast stay according to the hours genuinely available.

Airport to first appointment

Leave time between landing and presenting

An overnight flight can deliver you to Santiago before your room is ready. Agree early access or luggage storage with the property and leave the first serious appointment clear of the airport journey. Centropuerto lists airport services to Pajaritos, Terminal Sur and Metro República. Compare the Metro Line 1 connection at Pajaritos with a direct transfer using the destination entrance, luggage and arrival hour.

  1. 01
    Complete the arrival plan

For a pickup, retain the operator contact, meeting point, flight details and delay arrangement. Save the accommodation address offline and confirm how to enter after a late arrival.

  2. 02
    Choose a workable onward route

Pajaritos is on Metro Line 1, which also serves central Santiago, Providencia and parts of Las Condes. Check the final walk and current service before choosing this connection with bags.

The room and the meeting

Stay near the journey you will repeat

Compare accommodation against each confirmed venue. For meetings near El Golf or Manquehue, start with the relevant part of Las Condes; for a mixed city schedule, compare Providencia and its onward routes. The Santiago neighbourhood story explains the trade-offs. A district's reputation is less useful than the route from your door to the reception desk.

  1. 01
    Confirm a place to work

Ask the property about the desk, chair, connection and a quiet setting for calls. Reserve a separate room when privacy or a presentation matters, with access, equipment and guest arrangements confirmed.

  2. 02
    Test the important connections

Before the meeting, try the required files, call platform and presentation adapter using your organisation's approved setup. Keep the host's number and a copy of essential material available if a connection fails.

After the last meeting

Spend an afternoon in one part of Santiago

A free afternoon in Santiago works best with one destination. Centro Cultural La Moneda gives a civic-centre afternoon an exhibition to aim for; GAM, beside Universidad Católica, connects a dated cultural programme with Lastarria. Choose the visit first, then fit a meal and the return around it. Give a weekend extension its own plan.

  1. 01
    An afternoon you can finish

Use Santiago Between Meetings to choose a cultural visit, browsing in Barrio Italia or an easy meal near the office. Count the return to your room if you need to change before dinner.

  2. 02
A weekend with its own shape

Stay in Santiago for two city days, reserve a Casablanca wine outing, or give Valparaíso a night or two. The weekend extension story makes the nights and return journey explicit.

Before the trip

Settle the details that affect the working day

A short exchange with your host and accommodation can remove more uncertainty than another hour of browsing hotels. Keep these arrangements together with the final meeting schedule.

01

Agenda

Use dated local times and complete addresses

Put appointments in a calendar set to Santiago for the actual travel dates, especially when colleagues join from abroad. Ask about visitor registration, identification, the entrance and how early to arrive. Confirm the finish time before booking an evening event across town.

02

Bookings

Separate the work stay from the personal extension

Confirm which nights, transport and meals are covered by your organisation and how it wants invoices issued. Price any companion and extra nights separately. Ask the property whether you can keep the same room and how a change affects cancellation terms; use the budget guide for the whole trip total.

03

Preparation

Match the arrangements to the visit

Check SERMIG's official visitor information for your nationality and the activities planned, with your organisation's travel adviser handling any relevant permissions. Have the host's details, accommodation confirmation and onward booking available. If the trip becomes a longer working stay, use the long-stay guide.

04

Departure

Keep the airport journey clear

Confirm the airline's check-in requirements and work back from them with your transport provider. Allow for checkout, retrieving bags and any final meeting. A room after checkout or an early public-transport connection needs an actual arrangement. Keep a return from the coast on a separate day when a missed flight would be costly.

Make room for the city

Finish the week with something you came to see

Once the meetings are in place, choose one experience that matters to you: an art exhibition, a design district or a slower weekend by the coast. Give it enough time to become part of the trip.
